Self-Harm Consultation Service

The Self-Harm Consultation Service (SHCS) aims to support clinicians, parents and other professionals in their work with young people who present with self-harm behaviours.

They would like to extend their support to schools in the Croydon area, particularly following their recent re-opening, appreciating it is a challenging time for both students and staff.

SHCS are piloting drop-in consultation sessions for teachers and healthcare professionals to support them in working with young people at risk of harm to self.

The drop-in sessions would be a space for teachers and professionals to get advice from clinicians experienced in working with young people at high risk and could include discussion regarding assessment, management and risk planning related to self-harm behaviours.

Anyone interested in this service should contact the lead, Dr Lorna Taylor, directly on lorna.taylor@slam.nhs.uk to discuss how best to arrange the drop-in consultations.
