Family Safety Week – 1st – 5th April 2019

Accidents are the biggest killer of children and young people. Every week at least one child under-5 is killed because of an accident, with disadvantaged children most at risk.

The Royal society for the Prevention ofAccidents are shining a spotlight on simple things you can do to stop your child becoming an accident statistic. They are also sharing advice on good safety habits to get into, and the things you really need to buy to help keep your little ones safe.

Their representatives will be out and about during the week getting out the first of their Keeping Kids Safe packs and spreading safety messages, in person, or via our social media channels.

Whether you’re a parent or carer, a grandparent, a health visitor, a nursery nurse, or a company, you can get involved. You could run a family safety day for your staff, put on a child safety session for parents, or simply share their resources and tips with friends or on social media. Who knows? You could save a little life!
