Youth Arts Takeover on Saturday 28th October

The Croydon Youth Arts Collective (CYAC) are producing their second Youth Arts Takeover event at the Croydon Clocktower on Saturday 28 October 2017.

Croydon Youth Arts Collective Mission Statement:

We believe: the arts and culture enrich young people’s lives and are therefore vital for society and the citizens of Croydon.

We wish: to inspire positive changes to raise the profile of arts and culture in Croydon, by creating a dedicated group of young creatives who represent the diversity of Croydon.

We aim: to create accessible arts opportunities by and for young people; to develop young audiences for the arts in Croydon; to work with a range groups and organisations in order to raise the profile of the arts in Croydon; and to ensure young people’s voices are at the heart of decision-making.

We meet: in cultural spaces across the borough to share ideas, communicate and consult with a range of people and organisations about key issues which affect arts and culture.

We are putting a call out to all those in the borough that may have some creative activity, such as a performance, film, workshop or display, that they’d like to contribute to the event. Last year, we brought in over 1,000 children, families and young people to enjoy the day so it’s a great way to celebrate Croydon’s creative young talent and help different groups access the arts. We are looking for activity made by and/or for children and young people.

The application form is below for those that’d like to be involved.

Also below is an Impact Report from last year’s Takeover and CYAC’s mission statement so you get more of an idea about the young people producing this special event.

Please email completed forms back to us by 9th August. We’ll be in touch following this to let you know what we’re able to accommodate.
